1971—Year of Recovery and Controls
The year 1971 was one of economic recovery from the 1969-70 recession and moderate progress in the battle against inflation. Yet, because these improvements were less than deemed attainable, the country turned to a new economic stablization program in which centralized controls played a dominant role.
