The St. Louis Fed hosted our annual Regional Economic Briefing.  This year's event was titled Challenges and Opportunities Facing the Manufacturing Sector: A National and Local Perspective.

The program featured Kevin Kliesen, St. Louis Fed research officer and business economist, and Charles Gascon, St. Louis Fed regional economist.

A panel discussion focused on advanced manufacturing, featuring: 

• Edward L. Monser, president of Emerson, the global technology and engineering company based in Ferguson; 
• Al Koller III, president of Koller Enterprises, a plastics manufacturer and distributor based in Fenton; and 
• John Hixson, vice president for advanced manufacturing at the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership, a Clayton-based organization dedicated to growing businesses in the city of St. Louis and in St. Louis County.
