St. Louis Fed economist Amanda Michaud has been named to a senior economist position with the White House Council of Economic Advisers. The CEA, established by Congress in 1946 as an agency within the Executive Office of the President, "is charged with offering the President objective economic advice on the formulation of both domestic and international economic policy" according to the Council's website on whitehouse.gov.

Michaud officially joined the Bank in April 2020 after contributing to multiple St. Louis Fed Research publications in recent years while working at other Federal Reserve Banks, including Minneapolis, Atlanta, Cleveland, and Kansas City. She has also held positions at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Indiana University, and the University of Western Ontario. Michaud's areas of interest include macroeconomics, health economics, and labor economics.
