A casual reading of the popular discussion of stabilization policy over the past four or five years would suggest that the definition of a monetarist was firmly established. In the monetarist camp are Milton Friedman, Karl Brunner, Allan Meltzer, and the model of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
