KC Fed Labor Market Conditions Index Declines in January
On February 7, the Kansas City Fed reported that the Labor Market Conditions Index (LMCI) Momentum Indicator declined in January for the second month in a row, to 1.175. After reaching an all-time high in November of 2017 of 1.579, the index dipped in December and declined again in January. The Labor Market Conditions Index Momentum Indicator measures momentum in labor markets; a positive value indicates that labor market conditions are above their long-run average, and a negative value indicates that conditions are below the long-run average.
